"That's a good one." he said. "Aaron Tiaun. It has a nice ring." Caesar stumbled on a root in the ground, catching himself on the dirt. He got up and brushed himself off and continued walking. He fixed his necklace, hiding the coin back beneath his shirt. "What else do you think that you'll need for the journey?" he asked her.

Aaron Tiaun. Alaya liked the name. She held back a giggle when Caesar tripped. It was good to know his name. She didn't know of anything else she needed. What else could there be? "I don't thing so" She said. Really what else besides a change of cloths and a knife was needed. Especially when she had a few gifts if things went way over boards.

"You'd better get something." he told her. "Everybody has something. Believe me, it's nice to have something that's just yours when your out at sea. It gets lonely, and can be a little boring at times." he warned. "Some of us carry pictures, others of us carry letters or hang pictures. I know that some of them have weapons that they never use that belonged to their fathers. And things like that."

Alaya put her pouch of shells in her hand. That was her treasure. "My shells are all I really have. And of coarse Seeker" She said smiling at the Raven. The bag felt kind of heavy in her hands. The shells were one of the only things that brought her close to the sea. That and swimming.

"I thank that's neat." Caesar said. Then he pulled the string from around his neck, willing to share his special thing. "This is my lucky coin." he told her, now that it wasn't hidden. "It brings me luck on the ship. Even during storms, nothing bad ever happens. Not to me." he said proudly.

Alaya looked at the coin. "That is cool" She said. She loved storms. "I wonder what it would be like to be in the middle of a storm" She said more to herself than anyone else. She looked around. There weren't many people out at the time. Most of the me must be going to the bar or something.

"Oh, storms..." he said, trying to think of a word to describe them. "They are.... Storms are sinister." he said. "They are terrifying, but exciting. No one is the same. There really isn't a description for the fear and energy of a ship in a storm. Batten down the hatches! Man the main sail! Ah... There's nothing quite like a storm." he told her.

Alaya wanted to hear more about the sea. Oh how she couldn't wait to go back to it. She didn't know if the longing had anything to do with the fact she was a siren or because she lived by the sea most of her life? "What else can you tell me? Anything really about life out on the sea" She asked thirsting for more.

Caesar nodded. "While you are a member of this crew, everyone is family. But some of them will form rivalries with you. Beware of that. Respect the ones whom outrank you, and treat the ones below you however you like, but keep in mind that one day they could pass your rank and do the same to you. To those of equal rank, treat them fairly." He told her. "But take what you like, pick your battles, and stay alert." The sailor thought for a moment, trying to think of anything else. "What other questions do you have?" he asked, eager to answer them.

Alaya listened intently to his words. She could do that. Don't make an enemy that might be easy or hard depending on what happened. She thought for a moment. What could she do to be liked by the rest of the crew? "How do you think the sailors will react to fish-tails from someone that hasn't been out on the sea. I am pretty good at story telling" She said in more of a whisper. She didn't know if that would help but is was one of the few things she could do. She could sing and make every man on that ship do anything for her but that was a defendant no.

The sailor thought for a while, considering what she had said. "I think that it might be a little hard," he finally answered, "Considering that because you haven't been out at sea recently, you may not know all the terms and stuff of the sea. But it is a good idea. Just wait a while before you jump right into storytelling." Caesar told her. "How are you at gambling? If you could win a few games, that would surely impress them, if that's what you're trying to do."

Alaya nodded. She figure as much about the story telling but if there were false tales that she heard she would correct them. Gambling? She only gambled if there was a high chance she would win. would it be safe to tell him that she gambled? She figured it was alright. Seeker nipped at Alaya's ear as if agreeing with her thoughts. "Yes I do gamble. That is only if there is a good chance that I will win. I don't take lightly to loosing" She said with a quick glare at the Raven. Sill bird. She wished she knew what it was thinking like she could with sea creatures. Alright she didn't know exactly what they were thinking more like feeling.

"Well, you'll have to learn to play at higher stakes." he said, looking down the row of shops now for the right one. "You'll need to know how to play, and how to keep a Poker Face. It's important, believe me." Caesar told her. The sailor took in a deep breath. The air was cool, and refreshing. He loved it. It was even better when he could taste the salt of the sea. "What do you usually play for, when you gamble?" he asked. Did she play for money or objects? How much? Did she win good things? If she did, she might be able to fit in with the Hounds.

Alaya just nodded when he talked. She wasn't really paying much attention. Her mind was wondering. She wanted to go for a swim. She shook the thought from her head. It wasn't exactly the one she wanted. What did she gamble for? She just barely heard the question. "Money, rare shells and stones. Sometimes for some really expensive item, well that is if it is shinny. Once I won some old maps" She said. She was pretty good at the gambling game and hated to loose.

"Alright then." Caesar said, opening the door for her when they got closer to the shop. There were hammocks and cots and other beddings. The Sea Hound looked about. "Well, this is it." he said, not to anyone in particular. "Make a good choice." The sailor helped himself into one of the hammocks, watching the other customers in the store while he waited for Alaya to pick out the hammock that would be her bed for her time at sea.
