Alaya walked along the port with only one thing on her mind. She was to start training on how to be a sea hound. She wore dark brown pants that were torn at the base. She had on a long sleeved cream shirt similar to the ones most of the men wore at the docks that is if they wore a shirt. A black bandanna covered her head and her hair that was pined up. She had a bag slung over her shoulder. It held some food, a change of clothes and a pair of cloth shoes. She was barefooted at that moment. She had on her black belt. At her side was a knife and her small pouch of shells. She blended in fairly nicely, no one was paying much attention to her. She just hoped that it could work.

Caesar sat atop the hill, waiting for Alaya. No- waiting for Aaron. It was easy to spot her -No. Him. He laughed at his own corrections. It would be hard to get used to calling her that. "You there!" he called. "Boy!" He wondered if Alaya was used to answering to that title yet. She would have to get used to it eventually. The sailor made his way down the hill.

Alaya turned to see the man from the bar. So he did come. She walked up to him. "And for a moment I thought you weren't going to come" She said. No one was paying much attention to them. She still had all her things. She took a deep breath. She loved the sea air, she felt right at home near it's waters.

"I always come." he answered, then shrugged. "Now, we have to work on your voice. You don't want draw attention to yourself by having a woman's voice coming from a boy's body." He looked at her, thinking about her height. "Actually..." he began. "If you can talk with a squeak for now, you'd be fine. Act as if you are a lad whose voice is changing." It would probably be a little easier for her to pull off. He looked her up and down. "Nice outfit." he said. "But it needs work. What would happen if you ever got wet, which you will, on the ship?" She would need a shirt of a different color. "And you're too clean. Walk with me." he said, beginning to search the ground for a mud puddle.

Alaya nodded and followed him. She could die her shirt or something. Her voice on the other hand would be some trouble. She agreed with the man. Maybe this wasn't going to be as hard. "So after the fixing of the clothes then what?" She asked.

Caesar finally found what he was looking for. He picked up a giant clog of dirt and threw it at her. "The cleanness has to go!" he said, tossing another one at her. He laughed. This was fun. Or at least it was for him. "Might as well work on your hand/eye while we're at it." It would be important.

Alaya blocked any of the dirt from going into her eyes. She shook her head trying to get the dry dirt from going on her skin that already itched from the mud. She was alright with it being wet just when it dried was the problem. You will be out at sea soon and you won't have to worry about it. Alaya put her bag down and made sure her shells were tided tightly to her belt. She grabbed a glob of the dirt/mud and threw it at the man. She sat down and placed her hand on her shell pouch. The dirt was really irritating.

The dirt clog landed in his hair, and he shook his head as if he were in his animal form, shaking it free. "Good." he said, whipping another one at her, though careful not to get it on her belongings. No one wanted their belongings covered in dirt. It was most irritating then. Not even the dirtiest Pirate wanted mud all over his compass or a map. Caesar smeared mud all over her until she looked dirty enough to be a man. "No no no." he said, pulling her up as she sat. "We've got work to do." Caesar told her. "Next lesson: Spitting."

Alaya started rubbing the mud that ended up on her skin. It was already drying. "Why spitting?" She asked. That was the one thing she really didn't want to do. She would suffer with dry dirt and other things but really, spitting. It couldn't be that bad it just was not really her thing.

"Because you'll be drinking rum." he answered. "They just go hand in hand. It's what we do. Even if you're not drinking, you better spit once in a while. It's what we men do." he said. "Now watch carefully..." he wrinkled his nose and made a snarfling noise, before sucking back and hacking some spit about five feet in front of him. "Now you try."

Alaya rolled her eyes but copied what he did. When she spit it only went a foot or so. This was the one thing she wouldn't mind not fully learning. She put her bag back on her shoulder. A raven flew above her head and landed on her other shoulder. She smiled at the bird before turning back to the man.

"Good enough." Caesar said, and began to think of the next thing. "How are you at glaring? You'll need a pair of cold eyes if you are to survive on board. You can't go off showing tons of emotion. Bare you teeth a little, too. That always seems to help." He looked at the bird on her shoulder and reached out his hand towards it. "Is this your pet?" he asked, stroking the top of the raven's head with two fingers.

Yes, something she could do. Because of her bright blue eyes her glare can look as cold as ice. She let her mind wonder to the memories she had of things she hated. She looked at the man with a glare that could freeze any soul. She knew how to hate and how to show kindness and if she had to hate to get on the ship then so be it.

Caesar flinched. It was almost scary. No, it was scary. "Good." he said. "Now bare your teeth. Try a growl." he insisted. The Raven only made her look all the more menacing. "Will he be coming aboard with you?" the sailor inquired. It would be good to have a creature on board. And it helped Alaya. -Aaron. Caesar still had to get used to that.

Alaya let a growl escape from her throat in a low rumble. She bared her teeth a bit. She stopped and let the Raven climb onto her hand. "Yeah he will" She said before letting him take off toward the beach. "He likes to help me find shells" She said in almost a whisper. Instinctively she places a hand over the pouch that hung at her hip.
