Alaya quickly took the shell. She placed it back in her pouch. "Well that is good to know" She said. Alaya splashed some water onto her face to cool down. The dirt that had dried on her skin was still irritating. She made sure her hair wasn't showing from the bandanna. Satisfied she looked at the man. "So what is your position on the ship?" She asked.

"Me? I'm just a common sailor." he answered. "What about you? What position do you want to be?" Caesar asked her. She would probably have to start out low and work up, but it would be good to know what she actually wanted to do on the ship. Most of the positions on the ship were already filled, but there was always room for more. He reached up, grabbing the rope and securing it to the sides of the boat before he began to pull them up.

Alaya couldn't truly believe what he said. When he asked her she just shrugged her shoulders. "I will take almost any position just as long as long as I can be on the sea" She said. It was true.

(Ooc: Can you write a little more in your posts please? It's kinda hard to work with only four sentences)
"That's fair." said Caesar. He could respect that. The sea was a home to everyone. To be away from it left the heart aching. Sometimes, it was just good enough to be in it again. "You'll change your mind though, once you're part of the crew. Everyone always wants more. Always wants to be on top. It's the Pirate way of life." the sailor explained.

((ooc: k sorry about that))
Alaya turned her head. Would she really want anything other than a life at sea. She worked as a wench for a few years. A job on the sea no matter what was good for her. "A pirates way? Well there are always acceptations to the rule" She said with gleam in her eyes. She looked up to see the Raven. He waited a bit before landing on the girl's shoulder. "I guess he really does need a name" She said.

"You are a woman, that is why you are an exception. But enough time around the rest of us, and you'll see." Caesar told her. He looked at the black bird as it came again. "Can I hold him?" he asked her, extending two fingers for the bird to perch upon if he wanted to. Aaron was right. The creature really did need a name. "What about Seeker?" he asked. "Or Snatch?"

Alaya smiled. She nodded to the Raven and he jumped onto the man's fingers. She thought about the names he suggested. "I like seeker" She said. It did describe the Raven. Her mind went back to the aspect of finally going out on the sea. She wondered if she would sea the sirens again.

"Seeker it is then." Caesar said, stroking the bird softly. His feathers were warm and his bones were fragile, like toothpicks. But in all, the creature was strong. Able to fly high in the sky without falling, and able to carry small objects back. "Welcome aboard, Seeker." He said, gently petting the top of its head. The sailor got out of the boat and then helped Aaron out, too.

Alaya nodded her thanks as the man helped her out of the boat. She looked back at the ocean. Seeker flew into the air then landed back on her shoulder. She could see her reflection in the water. So that was what Aaron looked like. It would get some taking used to. She turned back to the man. "So what next?" she asked.

"We find you a place to sleep." he said. "Come on, follow me into town. We'll find you a hammock." Caesar said. "Or a cot. Whichever you prefer. But I do recommend a hammock. If there's ever any rats aboard, which there will be, you don't want them in your sleeping space." He told her. "It's just gross and unnecessary. Besides, you'll sleep better in a hammock."

Alaya felt a shiver craw up her spine. She hated rats. "A hammock will be prefect" She said. Alaya looked around to see the sun slowly craw towards the sea. Would she really be going out to sea soon? She wanted nothing more just she didn't know how to react to it. "Thanks for the help" She said to the man.

"You're welcome." he said, and then corrected her. "Remember. Talk with a squeak." Caesar told her. He lead her down the ramp from the ship. He picked up a golden coin in the sand. It must have washed up from the sea. There were lots of them around here. He looked up, his feet following his eyes and taking the path to town.

Alaya had to remember that. Squeak. She followed the man in silence. It occurred to her that she didn't know his name. For her those that went to the bar were just sailors and there were too many to know their name. "I was wondering. What is your name?" She asked making sure to add a squeak to her voice.

"Caesar." he answered, smiling at the squeak. It would do. "Caesar Lions." That reminded. "You'll need a last name for yourself as well. Aaron... Aaron what? You have to be Aaron something." the sailor told her. His boots sunk deeply into the wet ground, leaving his prints behind him in mud.

Alaya didn't think of a last name. Why would she need one? She thought for a moment about the name she could have. "Tiaun" She said. It was her middle name given to her by her mother. She hoped it would be alright since she hadn't told anyone her middle name.
