Joelle Carter
Character Name: Avalon Rickshaw
Nickname: Lonnie
Character Age: 28 years living
Gender: Female
Species: Animagus
Appearance: Avalon has long, fair hair that she usually keeps up when working. It may look sloppy on other girls, but she can pull it off rather well, so she's been told. Some of the strands dangle down into her face and by her ears, but the rest is kept off her neck during a work day.
Her eyes are as tricky as her personality. They seem to change with the lighting, appearing to be either blue or hazel. In either incidence, they are her tools for her to manipulate others. When she wants to be, she can be fierce, her eyes turning cold and judgmental. What a glare to see. Or, when she wants to be kind, they can be soft and gentle.
Lonnie is taller than the average woman, but there are others who are taller than her. She is a strong girl, but not overly muscular to the point that she looks manly. She is very feminine, and would like to stay that way.
Her wardrobe consists of everything from tattered work dresses to pretty party gowns. On any day that she's not working, you can usually find her in a nice dress, but not so nice that she would be sorrowed if it got dirty. A knife is always hidden somewhere on her person though. You can never be too careful, especially with all the drunkes around town. The happy ones are fine, it's the mean drunkes that you have to look out for. They seem more than willing to fight with anyone, including women. So of course, in Lonnie's mind, anyway, women must be more than willing to fight back.
Personality: Avalon is a very fiery woman. She doesn't take crap from anybody, and she stands up for what she believes in. This has gotten her into a few fights, with both women and men, and though she doesn't always come out on top, she gives it her all. Quite the stubborn lady, she doesn't know when to
give in.
But she can be kind, too. She's no monster. Despite her hard outside, when you really get to know her, she's soft within. She likes flowers and romantic things, like poetry and candle-light. And surprisingly, when it is sincere and without slur, Lonnie finds sweet talk rather flattering.
Her mind-set is deeply stubborn, but with wisdom. She won't stand for stupidity. Or arrogance, for that matter. Avalon doesn't approve of those whom hold their noses high. It's a backbone you must behold, and a fist you must keep ready, to get her attention. A voice that stands for what they believe.
History: Avalon doesn't really have the most interesting of pasts. She grew up right in Liquorpool, left home at sixteen, and took the first job she could find. Her childhood wasn't much to look at. Hard, poor, and disciplined, but character-building, to say the least. Her parents were strict, but loving, and always tight with money. Avalon made it her goal not ever to be that poor again. And she's reached that goal, thus far.
At sixteen, she was out of her parents' house and living on her own. Being a wench was a good job, as far as they pay went. She was allowed a room above the tavern so that she could work later into the night, and the drunks tipped well to a woman. In twelve years, she never lost her job. She learned the regulars from the visitors, and learned how to deal with rowdy customers.
Twenty-eight years standing, Avalon is a woman of many sides. She has her own house now, though she still keeps her room above the tavern for those nights when she is too tired to go home, or the night is too frightening or dark to walk in, though she'll never admit to that. Happiness comes from those who care enough to socialize, and friends who care enough to gossip. Sometimes, it just comes out of the sky.
