It was a kind day that day, the sun so generously warm and the breeze so sweetly soothing. Humble clouds glided softly through the sky like white, lazy stallions grazing on a field of blue. The green leaves of the trees rolled and scampered lightly, like playful newborn pups just learning to walk. The buildings of Cutlass stood proudly, clean and tall, like soldiers in white coats dressed for a parade.
The people in the streets were few this afternoon, perhaps a few Sirens here and there, though quiet and enjoying the sun. Some older children skipped rocks, while the younger ones chased the stray sphynx cats through the alleys.
A man and his dog strolled down the peaceful road, at last enjoying a day of relaxation. His golden hair lifted smoothly as the breeze danced through it, making him close his eyes at its calming touch. His eyes were of a soft brown when they opened, viewing the life of the town that mozied along so sleepily. This man, was Titus.

Wearing a long dark blue dress and her hair down, Alaya walked the streets of Cutlass. This was one of the few places where no one knew her so she could be herself and not a Sea Hound. It was a nice change even though she didn't care for the Siren pirates. Seeker flew above not wanting to call attention to himself as he searched for stray coins and such. She started to hum a sweet tune.
She wasn't paying attention to where she was going and almost ran into a man on the street. He was with his dog. She bowed her head. "Sorry for that. I wasn't paying much attention" She said trying to act like she cared. Really she would have rather have walked off.

Titus watched the girl in blue from afar, observing. Her dress was long and beautiful, her hair even more pretty than the gown. He smiled as she walked near him, clearly not paying any attention. So he stepped in front of her, but that was just step one.
"Oh, it's alright, Miss." he said, and went on his way. A few steps after he had left her, Titus' head turned to watch her as she walked down the street. His eyes sparkled happily ad her beauty. What a bonny damsel was she, and the wild aura about her was intriguing to him. Oh, she was not of this town.
His feet stopped suddenly, changing their direction to follow the woman, as always. His pace was quick to catch up with the girl, and Axel's pace quick to catch up with his young maiden-charming master.
The man reached her and put on his smile, already thinking of the line he was going to use. His right hand extended to her shoulder to get her attention, before drawing it back again. "A thousand pardons, Miss. But I had to asure myself that you were human. I believed 'twas an angel I saw roaming this street. So I've come again, only to find that my eyes see truth. 'Tis an angel that stands before me now."

Alaya walked off. She wanted to move faster when she noticed that the man was following her. Yet for some reason she wanted to see what he wanted. So she didn't hurry along and she slowed her passe a bit when he reached her. Angel? Inserting term to use for her. She wasn't moved just intrigued. Wasn't charming people with their voice her job?
"Well this Angel is of the sea and will bring you certain death" Alaya said referring to the term some sailors use to call Sirens. She smiled wondering how he would react to her comment. It had been a while since any man took notice of her as a girl. All many saw now a days was a boy Sea Hound.

"Ah, but how can I die when so heavenly a creature holds my heart?" he asked, taking both of her hands and bringing them together. Titus raised them to his lips and kissed softly, before holding each of her hands in his. "What eyes that shine in the sun's fair light do outshine the sun!" he exclaimed. "And what red lips that make the scarlet rose seem white. Surely such a goddess might spare my life?"

Alaya let the man have his moment. She could role her eyes or laugh at his stunts. She would not fall that easily to simple flattery. "Well if one so desire to continue this sure-raid I wish to know the name of the man I might kill" She teased.

"'Tis I, the noble Titus, who woes you." he said, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear softly. It appeared he had no regard for personal space, though he did kneel and bow his head to her, like a knight to his Queen. He took her hand again and looked up at her, not bothering to rise from the ground. "And might I ask the title of such a beautiful maid?" He inquired. "Let it be as sweet upon my ears as your face is to my eyes." Titus smiled at her, his famous handsome grin that won the hearts of the girls.

Alaya could almost yawn at the mans sayings. He would never understand that he was trying to make a girl who was half Siren fall for him. He had a lot to learn if he wanted to steal her heart. A heart that belonged to the sea. "My name is Alaya. And to stop you from making a fool of yourselves my heart is already taken" She said looking down at him. She had to admit that that smile was very nice but not enough.

"Not by me it isn't. Not yet. And a heart not taken by me is never truly taken." He gave her a little wink and stood, placing his arm around her shoulders. "Come and walk with me." he invited. His feet led them to the gardens of the town. Flowers, always a good way to start off. Girls loved flowers. "Tell me about yourself?" he pleaded. "No other topic would greater satisfy me, Alaya. Your name itself so much sweeter on my lips than sugar, and more lovely upon mine ears than a siren's song."

Alaya didn't know what to do. She walked with the man that she knew very little about. Only that his name was Titus and he was trying to flirt with her. There wasn't much to tell him. Well all she could say was she was a sailor and spent her time on the sea. She couldn't go and say 'Hey I am a half Siren who disguise myself as a boy so I can be apart of the Sea Hounds pirate band'. "I spend my time out on the sea" She stated simply. Seeker flew to her with a blue shell in his beak. She didn't have on like it so placed it in her pouch at her hip.

Titus sat down on one of the benches in the garden, leaving plenty of room for her to sit as well. "The sea?" he asked. "Well, that's a wonderful place. If you had a tail, I'd say that it really was a siren that stole me heart." Titus joked, unaware of the truth his words held. Axel came plodding up to them, new to the scene after being ignored for so long. "I'm sorry. This is Axel. He's a bloodhound." The dog wagged his tail at Alaya and put his head in her lap, asking to be pet. He loved attention as much as Titus did. "I see you have an animal of you own?" he questioned, extending his hand slightly towards the bird. "And extraordinary creature for such an extraordinary lady, I presume?" he smiled at her. She was a tough one. A challenge for him. And he liked it. She made him work hard to earn attention, and even harder if he wanted to win her love.

He knew nothing about what he was saying. He just joked about her being a siren but little did he know she was one. And if she so desired she could have him graveling at her feet in an instant. She smile at the dog and scratched him behind his ears. "Hi Axel" She said to the dog. "Seeker is more of a friend than a pet. He has the right to leave at any time he wants" She said referring to the Raven watching Titus carefully.

The dog leaned his entire body into her, nearly falling asleep at her touch. Titus laughed. "You've found his favorite itchy spot." he observed. "And nice friend you've got here, bringing you little treasures and such." he said, referring to the shell. "Do you collect them, Alaya?" he asked, nodding towards the pouch at her side. He smiled at her as an idea came to his mind.

Alaya wasn't sure if she like the look on the man's face. "Yes he does that often. And I do collect shells. They remind me of the sea when I am not near it, or of the places I have been" She said with a smile as she remembered some of the places she found the shells. She loved having something that could keep her close to the sea when she couldn't be near it herself.

He smiled when she spoke of her collection. The only idea that he had had was to use her collection as an excuse to hit on her again. It was innocent. He bent down, picking a rose from the bush and handing it to her carefully. "Then perhaps a ravishing rose for such a ravishing maid, to remember this garden on this day that we met?" he said sweetly. "To add to your collection."
